Blanche Young didn't invent the 9 patch, but she has made it an art form for the rest of us to enjoy and play with forever. I got to see her once at a guild meeting and if she's in your neighborhood...don't miss her...she would love your Flannel 9 Patch...

why do all my pictures look gray? It's green Dee! Ok it's green with some gray in it! Won't it be nice when pictures do the quilt justice?

well, the good news is that it looks pretty with gray...but, of course, green is my favorite, so i'm sure i'd like that too...and i know what you mean...the pumpkin quilt colors are really pretty together and blend beautifully and I just keep taking more pix to try to find one that really looks like it....oh, well..

Love this blue one, is it a bracelet ?? The covers are very nice also. Do you do angels too by any chance ??

Thank you Lisa. Yes the blue one is a bracelet and the black one is a mosiac clock and the one with the seahorses is an engraved mirror with a seashell mosaic around the edge.

Congrats on your first quilt! It looks good in the picture. Who will this be for? Is it a baby quilt or will it be a wallhanging?

I'm starting to harvest the summer veggies. I need ideas for what to do with anaheim peppers. Suggestions?
Sep 4, 2010 12:56 AM
Dee Brandvig
1 can crushed tomatoes
4 anaheims, topped out and seeded
1 teaspoon each
garlic powder, (NOT garlic salt)
black pepper
sage
thyme
basil
1 Tablespoon each
oregano
lemon juice (i use twice this amount, just love it)
1 bunch green onions
Blend, store in frig, and enjoy on almost ANYTHING
I top out and seed anaheims (in this case, 4 at a time) and put in sandwich baggies for the freezer. When making salsa, i just put 'em in, frozen and all....they will last for months and still give a really 'fresh' taste to your salsa...good luck...

Thank you so much, Dee! When I was at the garden store buying plants - I thought I bought a red, yellow, and green bell pepper. I ended up with the yellow, green & an anaheim.

ps...i also put a layer of anaheims into the layers of my tamale pie...one nice layer of the strips from the freezer gives a nice flavor without real 'heat'...people can adjust that at the table...

checkout floral sections for tiny silk flowers, seed pods, pearls, etc., you and your glue gun can adapt veil headpiece to coordinate with your dress....my feeling about the silk flowers is that the smaller they are, the more realistic....and assymetrical is usually more flattering and easier to accomplish...good luck and send us a pic!
